Curtain
The door curtain is manufactured from SBR black, EPDM blue or grey rubber. It is 1/4 in thick with a heavy duty polyester reinforcement laminate. The curtain has a tensile strength of 2000 psi. This ensures a rugged operation and f1exibility in a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
Endlocks
The "Double Seal" endlocks (edge that holds the curtain in the vertical guides) have two sealing ridges that prevent air infiltration under positive or negative pressure. They are made from EPDM rubber with continuous Teflon strips vulcanized and chemically bonded to form an integrated unit. This makes for a curtain that is both durable, weathertight and has an exceptionally smooth operation.
Bottom Bar
The bottom bar is standard structural steel, finish painted in security yellow. (other colours on request) It is equipped with a center mounted pintel hinge with shear pins, which allows the bottom bar to fold away from the point of impact and break away from the vertical guides. This allows the curtain to safely leave the guides minimizing damage to the vehicle and the door. It also facilitates reinstallation of the curtain into the guides. Under certain extreme wind conditions, wind bars can also be installed.
Vertical Guides
The vertical guides are made from structural and formed steel. The guide are hinged along the vertical axis held closed by calibrated compression spring that allow the guides to open under impact thereby releasing the curtain with minimum damage.
Springs
Torsion springs (100,000 cycles) are mounted on the outside of the main C-channel cross member, permitting easy access for maintenance. The springs are mounted on a 32 mm (1-1/4 in) cold rolled steel shaft which is attached to the cross member with Pollard bearings.
Operator
The electric operator (UIGH) is a heavy-duty industrial brake motor. The operator is of sufficient power to operate the door at speeds of 815 mm to 1525 mm (32 - 60 in) per second.
The operator is coupled to a heavy-duty industrial reducer with gears bathed in oil. It is designed for high speed continual use and ease of maintenance.
The operator is equipped with our patented clutch system.
The operator is equipped with a hand chain and electric disconnect for manual operation during electrical shut downs.
A limit switch is attached directly to the main shaft for better control performance.
Electric Panel
The electric panel is CSA approved and will meet all local and architectural norms as specified. It will have quality reverser / starters, a cycle counter and three push buttons on the panel front.
Finish
All metal surfaces will have one coat of primer and two coats of yellow finish paint. All paint will be environmentally approved water based product. Other colours are available on request.
Accessories
Vision panels, photo cells remote controls, bottom safety edges, loop detectors and card entry systems are some of the many accessories.
